Children and education
The municipality offers teaching from preschool to university level.
Our follow-up shows that schools in Piteå are of a high quality and pupils acquire good skills. In principle, all staff has teaching and subject training, and the premises are mostly well equipped and functional. Studies also show that pupils are happy and feel safe in our schools.
Almost every village/part of the municipality has a preschool, after-school centre and compulsory school. The municipality has two upper secondary schools, Strömbackaskolan and Grans Naturbruksskola. The School of Music, which is part of Luleå University of Technology, is located on the university campus in Piteå and is one of six music colleges in Sweden.
