The world-famous light phenomena the Northern lights, also called the aurora borealis, a phenomenon that occurs due to the earth’s magnetism, especially in the north on winter nights. Bright nights occur from late May to early August.

All four large species of predator wolf, wolverine, lynx and bear occur in Swedish Lapland. The County Administrative Board is responsible for the inventory of the size and dispersion of predator populations.
