Norwegian opera star Lise Davidsen makes her acting debut as Leonora in Verdi's gripping tragedy The Power of Fate. First shown live in theaters from the Met in New York on March 9.

Director Mariusz Treliński delivers the Met's first La Forza Del Destino in nearly 30 years, setting the action in a contemporary world. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts the performance and soprano Lise Davidsen makes her debut as the noble Leonora, who flees her home after being abandoned by the man she loves. The grand tale of unrequited love, deadly vendettas and family feuds makes great use of the Met's revolving stage to represent the unstoppable march of fate that drives the opera's chain of cataclysmic events.

The cast also includes the tenor Brian Jagde as Leonora's beloved Don Alvaro, the baritone Igor Golovatenko as the vengeful brother Don Carlo and the mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk as the fortune teller Preziosilla. Bass baritone Patrick Carfizzi is Fra Melitone and bass Soloman Howard both Leonora's father and Padre Guardiano.
