CFIQ
CFIQ (Consortium for Training, Innovation and Quality) is located in the north west of Italy at about 40 km from Turin.
CFIQ started its activities in 1996 as a Vocational Training organization and Consortium of 60 partners representing organizations/bodies from the local area.
Its activities are primarily based on the regional plans for training and are mainly carried out in an extended rural area.
The CFIQ Consortium has two main target groups: young people and adults.
The main objective of CFIQ is to provide training
- For the first working experience
- For unemployed workers
- For disadvantaged people
- For companies and their employees
- To upgrade the qualification of people with secondary school diploma
Other aims of CFIQ are to use the funding coming from the local authorities to give high quality training services and to establish networks of public and private bodies.
According to these aims CFIQ has been involved in several projects for local development through education and training.
CFIQ is also involved in organizing training for adult migrants in the health and care sector. The courses, organized within this sector, include the teaching of Italian (L2) for migrants and education for citizenship.

ENGIM is a not for profit vocational training organization with centres all over Italy.
Its main aim has always been to provide an education for young people but its activities are also dedicated to other targets.
ENGIM has several courses which are funded by the ESF through the local authorities. The courses allow young people to fulfil their compulsory education and adult people to acquire competencies and new skills. The courses are in the field of ICT, electronics and catering industry, environment, health and care.
The courses comprise the key competences identified by the EU, practical activities and, in some cases, work placements.
In 2011 the students who attended the courses were around 1500. With reference to adult education ENGIM organizes courses for several targets: migrants, unemployed people, companies and local authorities. The main fields of training are: environment, ICT and communication, management, personal development and social care.
The organization is part of several networks in order to provide a training which is both tailor made and also responding to the needs of the labour market. Its 2 main networks are in the field of environment and sustainable mobility where ENGIM is in charge of post-diploma and post-graduate courses.
ENGIM has also been involved in projects for local development through education and training; among these several of them included the teaching of the Italian language as a mean to acquire skills for integration and citizenship.

Piteå Municipality
From Sweden the partner is Piteå Municipality, from the north of Sweden. Our department offers a support structure for lifelong learning to the individual using flexible forms of educational- and social activities, which are based on the needs of the labour market, the society and the wishes of the individual.
Piteå has 40,000 inhabitants and have migrants mostly from Eastern Europe and Asia. There are also a few refugees that have come to Piteå. All migrants in Sweden have the right to participate in Swedish for Immigrants (SFI). SFI is a basic education in the Swedish language and the Swedish society for adult people who do not have the Swedish language as native tongue. All immigrants who are nationally registered in the municipality have a right to participate in SFI.
ALPES
ALPES (Association of Social Promotion & Education) is a non-profit organization.
ALPES has been involved in training activities for migrants since its creation in 1985.
ALPES is involved in basic types of training, from welcoming foreigners to France (Reception and Integration Contracts), but also deals with individuals’ development to help their work integration: orientation, pre-qualifications and qualifications. Furthermore, ALPES participates in work training for company employees.
ALPES is involved in training courses with public policy concerns (i.e. local, regional, national and European authorities) or responding to specific demands from companies.

WEA
Founded in 1903, The Workers Educational Association (WEA) is a national, democratic, voluntary organisation, which seeks to encourage access to education throughout life, especially for those adults who have experienced barriers to learning as a result of economic circumstances, social isolation, limited confidence, low self-esteem or lack of educational opportunity.
