January 29 we see it live at bio Studio Acusticum. A new version of Verdi's dramatic tragedy about the court jester Rigoletto. Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher moves the plot to the 1920s. Expect stylish art deco scenography and elegant costumes, created by two designers who together have won eight Tony Awards. Baritone Quinn Kelsey plays the role of Rigoletto for the first time at the Met. In the role of Gilda, we see the soprano Rosa Feola. Conductor is Daniele Rustioni. The first opera in Giuseppe Verdi's "trilogy" which also includes The Troubadour and La traviata. Rigoletto revolves around three main characters: a court jester, brilliant but broken in body and soul; the sybaritic nobleman he serves and the fool's naive teenage daughter who ends up in the middle of them. It is a story about love in all its forms - parental love, romantic and carnal love - set with an intoxicatingly beautiful music and a nuanced and psychologically empathetic libretto. With an act that goes from seduction to kidnapping and ultimately murder, the opera is essentially the story of a fatally overburdened single parent who desperately wants to protect his only daughter. Written for the extraordinary Russian cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, his composition became one of the most striking cornerstones of cello literature. The 1994 recording of Shostakovich's cello concerto by tonight's soloist Torleif Thedéen continues to be regarded as an unbeatable interpretation of this work.   Music starts where words end. This Midnight Hour, a cinematic work by the contemporary composer Anna Clyne, takes us on a journey beyond description into the universe behind two lines of poetry that well up from the darkness of midnight. In his opera Peter Grimes, Benjamin Britten gave vent to his love for the maritime scenes of his home region. Jean Sibelius remained silent over the tragic moments of his life, but they inspired him to create one of his psychologically most profound compositions, an expression of a state of mind: the symphonic poem En Saga.Studio Acusticum, Stora salenContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

In addition, we want to make you aware of our event partners' terms and policies as well as any restrictions and prohibitions from authorities aimed at infection control, public health, safety and order. Ingá-Máret Gaup-Juuso has established herself as an important part of the new generation of Sami musicians. Growing up in Finnish Karesuando with strong roots in Norway and Sweden, she started yoiking already at a very young age. The yoik has always been a large part of her family's cultural heritage and she received early attention, both for her yoiks and her singing voice. Among the many memories of her childhood is one where she yoiked at a special invitation in front of the Dalai Lama herself to visit her neighborhood.   She began her professional career as an actress and has participated in productions at Scenkonst Östersund, Beivva's Sami Theater in Kautokeino and the National Theater in Oslo in addition to countless musical projects.   To the Swedish audience, she is perhaps best known for her collaboration with the artist Loreen, with whom she collaborated in the television program Sápmi Sessions. The meeting led to the song Son, which was both performed at Skansen's live national day celebration and later nominated for Rockbjörnen in the category Song of the Year. The yoke is central to IngáMáret Gaup-Juuso's music creation. She picks the traditional ones mainly from the history of her large family, for her it is important to preserve the cultural heritage. She also constantly writes new yoiks, always based on a feeling.   As a regional musician in northern Norway, Ingá-Máret Gaup-Juuso is involved in many different musical contexts and projects where she often contributes her own material. She is also a member of the Oslo-based group Tundra Electro where traditional music is combined with various contemporary musical expressions and improvisation.   Ingá-Máret Gaup-Juuso brings her own music to the collaboration with Norrbotten Big Band in an intimate collaboration with Ole Jørn Myklebust - musician, composer, arranger and producer. Known not least for his long collaboration with Mari Boine.   - I am very much looking forward to this, says Ingá-Máret Gaup-Juuso, and tells that it was many years ago that she and Ole Jørn Myklebust decided to someday find a context where they could collaborate. - He is an incredibly wise and insightful musician, so this will be very exciting. That I will then be allowed to perform with the Norrbotten Big Band does not make matters worse. This is what I long to do, says Ingá-Máret Gaup-Juuso.   The concert is part of Jazzfeeling 2022Studio Acusticum, Black BoxContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

This comic one-act play has a libretto by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, who also wrote the lyrics to Rosenkavaljeren. March 17, you see the opera as a day performance at Studio Acusticum.   Lise Davidsen's critically acclaimed interpretation of the title role Ariadne can be experienced for the first time at Met. The libretto is partly based on the old ancient myth of Ariadne.   The Ariadne myth tells how Prince Theseus goes to Crete to kill the minotaur, and gets help from Princess Ariadne. The couple fall in love, but on the trip to Athens they stop on the island of Naxos, where Theseus takes the opportunity to slip away alone. Ariadne regrets her fate, but soon gets full with both Harlequin, Hermes and Bacchus. The unique ensemble also has the mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard as composer for the opera-in-opera around which the plot revolves. Soprano Brenda Rae makes the lively Zerbinetta and tenor Brandon Jovanovich is Ariadne's lover. Marek Janowski conducts.   Duration: 2 hours and 50 minutes including 1 breakStudio AcusticumContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

Sjöstedt has long been a regular guest at Norrbotten Big Band as bassist and arranger. After the latest collaboration on the album and the tour with A Woman's Voice - where Sjöstedt wrote arrangements for Malmö-based jazz singer Vivian Buczek's choice of songs and himself led the band - he is now back at the request of the band members. Although he is known as a double bass player for most people, the piano was Martin Sjöstedt's first instrument. It is also from the piano that he leads the Norrbotten Big Band when he now returns with a set of completely newly written compositions and arrangements.   The concert is part of Jazzfeeling 2022Studio Acusticum, Black BoxContactinfo@studioacusticum.com

He made his debut in the middle of the 00's with his Swedish soul and has recently released his seventh album Home.   Over the years, the Malmö-based Tingsek has made acclaimed collaborations with artists such as Ane Brun, Allen Stone, Emily King and Timbuktu and in his music there are layers of gospel and soul as well as jazz and Swedish poetry. Perhaps the music can best be described as an organic, melodic and very hopeful soul where you hear the care of the details of each song. In interviews, Tingsek has said that he himself must get goosebumps from his own songs in order to take them further. The listener hears a wonderful soul voice in narrative texts about thoughts about relationships and everyday life - everything that belongs to life.   Ever since the previous collaboration in Soulful December, the idea of a sequel with the critically acclaimed artist has been long awaited by the big band. Now Tingsek brings with him his own music arranged for the band by, among others, Norrbotten Big Band's artistic director Joakim Milder. - We are very much looking forward to the collaboration with Tingsek.
