Gläntan
Gläntan is a favorite spot among the residents of Piteå. It features a beautiful, long sandy beach with fine-grained sand and shallow waters, making it ideal for swimming. Here you’ll find fire pits, firewood, benches, and tables. The beach is easily accessible for visitors with limited mobility thanks to sturdy boardwalks and ramps, and wheelchair users can reach all the way to the large fire pit. Informational signs about the nature reserve and the Piteå archipelago are also located nearby.
Gläntan is part of Sandängesstranden, one of the two municipal nature reserves in Piteå.
Sandängesstranden is a 270-hectare nature reserve located between Pite Havsbad and Haraholmen. Within the reserve lies the beach area known as Gläntan. Altogether, Sandängesstranden stretches 2.5 km in length and averages 1.5 km in width.
From the town center, drive toward Pite Havsbad on road 506 and follow the signs for Sandängesstranden Nature Reserve.
