Storforsen

Experience the mighty roar of Storforsen, swim, have a coffee or take a guided tour.

The nature reserve was established in 1971 and expanded in 1997.

Storforsen is located in the municipality of Älvsbyn and is Europe's largest unregulated rapids.

The total length of the entire rapids, from start to finish, is 5 km with a total drop of 82 meters.
The nature reserve is a good example of a powerful Norrland river landscape.

At Storforsen, much has been done to make it easier for visitors - information, hiking trails, picnic areas and garbage cans.
Large parts of the area are accessible.

During the summer months, there are restaurants and a craft and souvenir shop.
