Stortjärn
Stortjärn is not just a fishing lake – it’s a bit of a paradise for both anglers and nature lovers
Located between Yttersta and Storsund, you’ll find this well-maintained gem where a good catch is never far away. The lake is home to rainbow trout, brown trout, Arctic char, pike, and perch – and yes, there are plenty of them! Thanks to regular fish stocking every other week during the summer, your chances of getting a bite are high. And best of all? No stressful opening days – Stortjärn is open for fishing all year round, so you can go whenever the mood strikes.
Want to stay a little longer? There are caravan pitches as well as a cozy cabin for up to six people – perfect for a weekend with friends or family. As a bonus, there’s a wood-fired sauna. Because really, what beats a sauna after a day out in the fresh air? Just a heads-up: the cabin is very popular, so don’t wait too long to book.
Stortjärn is also a great example of accessibility. If you use a wheelchair, you can easily reach a spacious 20 m² fishing deck via a ramp from both the parking area and the cabin. There are plans to equip the deck with a grill in the future. An accessible toilet is available by the caravan parking area.
Around the lake, you’ll find several shelters and fire pits – perfect for taking a break, enjoying a cup of coffee over an open fire, or maybe grilling your catch of the day
