Vitsands horse race track

Vitsands horse race track is run on a voluntary basis by the Pitebygden association, and many activities take place here throughout the year.

Almost every Saturday, trial races are organized for local horses to train in. The number of races depends on how many horses are entered on the same day.

Visitors are welcome to stop by, buy some refreshments in the café, and sit at a window table while watching future stars on the track.

During the summer, the 2-year-old series is held to train the youngest horses to maintain a steady and smooth pace—meaning not to go as fast as possible, but to keep a specific time and become accustomed and unafraid of everything involved in a real trotting race.

The final takes place every year in August during Bygdetravet.
