Piteälven - Sikfors FVO
Piteälven – a gem for fishing and nature experiences
In Piteälven you can fish for salmon, trout, whitefish, grayling, pike and perch. The area also offers a fireplace and shelter from the wind, perfect for a break in nature.
The river is approximately 400 km long and flows from the mountains on the Norwegian border down to the Gulf of Bothnia at Piteå. It is almost untouched by hydroelectric power, which means that it retains its natural character and rich animal and plant life. Here you can find everything from mountain stretches to forest rivers and coastal landscapes, and the river is particularly famous for its sea trout and salmon fishing during spring and early summer.
