Hiking of 3,2/3,5/5,5 km. Gläntan is the Pite residents' own favourite place. The long, shallow sandy beach invites you to walk and swim. The Pite River brought the sand here. Land uplift, sea and wind created soft dunes. Here there is an exciting sand dune flora with, among other things, Bothnian wormwood, which in the whole world only exists in the Gulf of Bothnia. A ramp adapted for wheelchairs and prams leads into the area. A marked hiking trail starts from Gläntan. Along the trail there are 19 visitor points that tell about the nature and history of Sandängesstranden. The visitor points also have a QR code that leads to in-depth information on the web.
