25.11 ORGAN CONCERT - SWINGING AND INVENTIVE FRENCH ORGAN MUSIC
On Tuesday, November 18, Ismo Hintsala and his students from the church musician training in Oulu will be giving a magnificent concert on the Acusticum organ. Experience a powerful and varied program performed by the church musicians of the future. A unique evening where tradition meets virtuosity - don't miss this!
Church music students from Piteå will play swinging and inventive French organ music from two different eras. Students will play the only surviving music by Pierre Du Mage, from his organ book of 1708. The second part of the program consists of music written by Jehan Alain, one of the most creative organ composers of the 20th century. Alain died at the age of 29 in World War II but managed to write many innovative organ works.
