Norrbotten Big Band meets Rebecka Törnqvist and Johan Lindström

A long-awaited reunion awaits when the Norrbotten Big Band once again takes the stage with Rebecka Törnqvist and the arranging genius Johan Lindström. Now new, exciting musical encounters await – largely newly written music from Törnqvist and Lindström.

 

The last time the duo visited Piteå in 2012, the collaboration was praised in Piteå-Tidningen. I want the concert to be repeated – immediately! was the review.

 

Rebecka Törnqvist, one of Sweden's most respected jazz and pop singers, has a career that extends from the Grammis-winning hits of the 1990s to today's jazz scene. Rebecka and Johan Lindström, who are known for their pedal steel guitar and their arrangements for great Swedish artists, have collaborated for a long time and form a radar pair that lifts music to new heights. Johan Lindström has played with the Norrbotten Big Band several times before, and was among the Composer in Residence for the band in 2020. He has been described as a musical magician and is one of Sweden's most sought-after musicians.

 

Rebecka herself is looking forward to playing with the band again and creating new music together with Johan - from ear to loaf.
