Rossini - Petite Messe Solennelle
Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle in a new style. Visual design and movement are combined with traditional sacred music to create a multifaceted concert experience. On stage, an ensemble consisting of students from Piteå Academy of Music and an international solo group composed of students and alumni from the Academy of Music in Piteå, Oulu and Tromsø will perform. The accompaniment is performed by two pianists and a harmonium. The students from the three northern music academies join forces to bring this church music classic from the 19th century to the stage as a multidisciplinary experience. The work offers a unique experience for everyone who loves classical music and church music – the traditional mass is transformed into something new and thought-provoking.
