Festspelen i Piteå - Elin and the Woods

Sami singer/songwriter/joker Elin Kåven and songwriter/music producer Robin Mortensen Lynch work with the main focus on finding a way back to our roots - the connection to the earth and the innermost, natural in us. The primal power. Their songs are in both English and Sami and contain a large dose of joik. They call the music indigenous electronic pop which consists of electronic music with heavy rhythms.
 

Our main inspiration has clearly been mother earth and man's relationship to it. When we noticed that this was something we were both very interested in, it became natural to write songs that dealt with this topic. We feel very honored that we get to carry these messages forward through our music, they say. Welcome to the Festspelen, we say.
