Martin Schibbye works as a foreign correspondent and is editor-in-chief of the reporting website Blankspot. Since he was released after 438 days of captivity in the infamous Kality Prison in Ethiopia, he has worked to keep his promise to his fellow prisoners and tell about what he saw.
The question of the responsibility of oil companies for human rights is particularly relevant this year in light of the trial for international law violations that is ongoing in Stockholm District Court against the oil company Lundin Oil, which Martin Schibbye examined in Ethiopia. Now they are on trial for their operations in Sudan.
Martin Schibbye will lecture about the work as a foreign correspondent, the historic trial and about the hunting season that is prevailing for journalists around the world.
The event is arranged by Piteå Municipality and is free of charge. It is part of Focus on Human Rights, inspiring days on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Piteå as a Human Rights City and the Sami Language Week. With over three decades in the service of music, Mattias Alkberg is one of Sweden's most uncompromising and headstrong voices. As a poet, punk, pop craftsman and rock icon, he has constantly moved in the borderland between the brutally honest and the unexpectedly beautiful – often in the same breath.
Alkberg has released over 30 albums over the years, both as a solo artist and with various bands. Erik Moberg: has been a comedian for more than ten years and has gigged with most of the big stars in Sweden such as Babben Larsson, Johan Glans, etc. He runs several clubs around northern Sweden and now it is finally time for Piteå to get a stand-up club.
Agneta Stefansson: jokes about her everyday life and professional life as a 50-plus person, whoops she has turned 60. She likes dialects and does her best to imitate them. In her everyday life she is a TV journalist who works with culture and entertainment and likes to keep track of most local news on stage. In 2019 she won the title of Umeå's funniest.
Zackarias Branzell: A resident of Umeå who, with many years on Comedy stages around Europe, comes to Piteå to offer a good laugh!

Over the years, Ola has appeared in everything from Allsång på Skansen and Svenska Nyheter to visbattle in SVT's Rostmacka. He has tens of millions of streams on Spotify and has, among other things, made an award-winning show about Thomas Quick and a children's book about a radicalized hedgehog.

The goal? To create unique and developing material that both challenges and inspires the band's musicians and audience. This year, the choice is one of the jazz world's most exciting voices - Karmen Rõivassepp.
It's about paving the way for new ways of thinking and creating something really exciting together with the musicians, says the big band's artistic director, Joakim Milder.
Karmen Rõivassepp, an Estonian singer, composer and arranger, has already made a strong impression on the Scandinavian jazz scene.
Before the project, Karmen and the orchestra meet on three occasions to develop ideas and create music that makes both the collective and the individual grow. For Karmen, this is a dream opportunity: - To be able to work with an orchestra like this and in this way is a dream for any artist, she says.
Joakim Milder pays tribute to her latest album Ambivalence:

Students will play the only surviving music by Pierre Du Mage, from his organ book of 1708. The second part of the program consists of music written by Jehan Alain, one of the most creative organ composers of the 20th century.
